How to Use the Strip Quilt Calculator

Enter your finished quilt dimensions, the cut width of your strips, and the strip direction. Horizontal strips run across the quilt width; vertical strips run along the length.

The calculator shows how many strips to cut, the cut length for each strip (includes 4" ease), and how many strips fit across a standard 44" bolt in one pass.

For jelly roll quilts, enter 2.5" as the strip width. The calculator handles piecing math — if you need more strips than fit in one bolt length, it calculates the total yardage needed.
